Downeast Auto Body's Facilities
Our repair facility occupies 27,000 square feet of space designed to maximize both efficiency and production. We have a drive-in estimating bay with a lift that allows us to write estimates inside while protecting both you and your vehicle from any adverse weather conditions.
We begin the repair process in our disassembly bay. Removing the damaged parts of your vehicle immediately accomplishes two purposes: First of all, it reveals any hidden damage not obvious at the time your original estimate was written; we can notify your insurance company and order any supplemental parts essential to the repair immediately. Secondly, it allows us to more accurately blueprint the repair time and process for your vehicle.
We have an expansive Parts Room on site, complete with upstairs storage, parts carts, and an elevator to safely move and store the replacement parts while your vehicle is moving through our production process.
Downeast Auto Body has invested in the latest technology to repair your vehicle in accordance with factory specifications. We have three (3) Chisum frame machines; six (6) Chief EZ Liner frame machines and two (2) measuring systems, a Chief Genesis and a Chief Velocity, that we use to bring your damaged vehicle back into proper alignment. We have two resistance welders; a Pro Spot i4 and a Pro Spot PR10 that provide factory quality spot welds.
Downeast Auto Body converted to water based paints over three years ago to reduce our impact on the environment, to promote healthier work environment for our employees, and to allow us to produce a better color match for our customers. We use PPG Envirobase paint and PPG Computer Paint Readers to produce the best possible color match for your vehicle.
The repaired or replaced body panels that will be installed on your vehicle will be prepared for paint in one of our four (4) Blowtherm Paint Prep Booths. Our paint team will apply paint in one of our two (2) Blowtherm Spraybooths that circulate heated air through a downdraft air make up system to allow for quicker drying time.
Finally, your vehicle’s repaired and painted body panels will be buffed before it is reassembled. Your vehicle will cleaned inside and out before we return it to you.
